Speak. Your words appear where you type.
Local voice dictation for prompts, messages, and documents. Download a model once; your audio is then transcribed on your computer.

Parakeet v3 is the Windows default for fast transcription and automatic language detection. Choose Whisper Turbo for custom vocabulary and more languages. Both engines are included.
Your audio stays on your computer
No cloud transcription or subscription. On Windows, the last 100 transcripts are kept locally, and Copy Last Dictation is available if insertion is blocked. For French with Whisper, choose fr in settings; English is the default.

Before
You give an agent a long task, step away, and your computer goes to sleep before it finishes.
After
ASP keeps your computer awake while an agent works. When all agents finish or wait for your input, normal idle sleep resumes.
Core Features
Smart Detection
Follows agent activity through hooks, so sleep prevention starts and stops with your tasks.
Multi-Instance
Keep several agent sessions running. Your computer stays awake while any registered session is working.
Lid awareness · macOS
macOS detects lid closure. On Windows, your existing lid and power-button settings remain in control.
Menu bar & system tray
Check activity and choose automatic mode, keep awake, or allow sleep from a native desktop menu. On macOS, Sleep when done puts the Mac to sleep once every agent has finished, even on power.
Thermal protection · macOS
Automatically re-enables sleep if Mac is throttling due to heat
Auto-Cleanup
Expired or terminated sessions are removed automatically, so interrupted agents do not keep the machine awake indefinitely.
Daemon Mode
Run the sleep monitor in the background or use the desktop app with local dictation.
Claude Code + Codex
Automatic native Claude Code and Codex hooks on both platforms. Hermes profiles are also supported on macOS.
Auto-Launch
Start with your session using a macOS LaunchAgent or Windows Startup shortcut.
Extra controls on macOS
The macOS menu bar also includes terminal navigation and detailed process monitoring.
Dynamic Icon
Icon changes based on state: ☕ when active, 😴 when sleeping
Live Instance Tracking
Shows active instances with PID, age (seconds), and real-time CPU usage
Click-to-Focus
Click any menu item to bring its terminal window to front
Global Hotkeys
Ctrl+Alt+Cmd+J instantly cycles through all your active agent terminals - the killer feature for multi-instance workflows
Kill Inactive
Option-click to kill inactive agent processes directly from the menu
Thermal Status
Real-time thermal state indicator (OK or WARNING!)
How It Works
Send a prompt to Claude Code or Codex after installing the hooks.
ASP prevents idle sleep while at least one agent is working.
Normal idle sleep resumes when all agents finish or need your input.
CLI Commands
Shared commands for macOS and Windows. On Windows, use .\asp.exe from the installation folder.
asp startRegister current agent process and disable sleep
asp stopUnregister process and re-enable sleep if no others active
asp statusShow registered agents and current sleep status.
asp cleanupClean up stale PIDs from interrupted sessions
asp daemonRun the sleep monitor in the background.
asp menubarLaunch the macOS menu bar or Windows tray app.
asp resetForce reset: clear all PIDs and re-enable sleep immediately
asp installInstall the app, agent hooks, and startup integration.
asp uninstallRemove ASP hooks and startup integration.
Setup & Integration
Install once, then use your agents as usual.
Windows · no administrator required
Extract the entire ZIP and run asp.exe install. Both speech engines are included; download your model from the tray menu.
macOS · guided setup
The first-run assistant configures the permissions and sleep-control integration required on your Mac.
Preserve your existing hooks
ASP adds its native agent hooks while preserving your existing configuration. Windows integration targets native agents; WSL requires separate setup.
Automatic startup
Open ASP from Applications on Mac or the Start menu on Windows. The installer also configures startup at login.
